1998

Tecnológico de Monterrey, Aguascalientes Campus, was founded like all great projects, with a dream, an idea that materialized on August 10 in a ceremony at the Quinta Real hotel, presided over by Governor Otto Granados Roldán, our rector, C.P. David Noel Ramirez Padilla, and Ing. Victor Gutiérrez Aladro, the first campus director.

After operating in the Torre Plaza Bosques building with satellite master's programs, a dedicated location was finally secured to build the university. It was situated on the outskirts of the city, lacking the road infrastructure enjoyed today.

Tec opened its doors with a single-story main building featuring a central plaza, a small cafeteria, and green areas. It was equipped with 10 classrooms, a library, study rooms, administration offices, IT, and physical plant offices, as well as internet and telephone services, all powered in the early days by a gasoline generator.

2000

Two more levels were added to the main building, modifying and relocating classrooms. In the same year, a multipurpose room called "Aguascalientes" was built, and rooms were adapted for dance and alebrijes classes for cultural education.

2003

The Center for Sustainable Development Studies (CEDES) was inaugurated, and the cafeteria was expanded to its current size.

2009

The Center for Automotive Industry Development in Mexico (CEDIAM) and architecture workshops were constructed, providing engineering and architecture students with spacious areas dedicated to their professions.

2011

The Student Affairs Directorate (DAE) building was constructed, equipped with a gym, dance floor, stage, theater, dance, music, drawing, and painting rooms.

2012

The Borregos Aguascalientes Stadium was inaugurated, providing students with a large space for sports development in Flag Football and Soccer disciplines.

2013

The entire campus was equipped with Tec furniture.

2015

The Learning Commons was inaugurated in the CEDES building. This is an open collaborative workspace where students can learn and work together to make the most of digital information using information technologies.

2017

The conference hall was inaugurated.

The world is in constant change, and in anticipation of this, at Tecnológico de Monterrey in Aguascalientes, we will continue to evolve, working as a team and with leadership to reach the maximum potential of our students.

I am very pleased to welcome you to this new school year August-December 2020, which will be full of new learning, friends and challenges that will lead you to improve and continue growing day by day.

Just a few months ago, our way of living and seeing life was challenged and we have been transforming to move forward together. Leadership, innovation and entrepreneurship are the principles that have guided the reason for being of Tecnológico de Monterrey, leading our students and graduates to human flourishing. Under this premise, we look to the future to remain committed to contributing to the construction of a better world. The task is to work so that each period a better version of the wonderful history of our Institution is written, so this new semester I invite you to start living the Tec to the fullest, take advantage of all the tools that will be at your disposal and develop your skills by discovering each of your strengths and enhancing them to the maximum.
