Overview
Born in Grenoble, France in 1985, Nuria Menchaca is a Mexican artist graduated from ENAP / UNAM and the Université Laval in Québec.
She has twice been a fellow of the FONCA Young Creators Program and has received several distinctions for her work in animation, such as the award for Best Animated Short Film at the FIC Morelia (2015), which allowed her to appear at the Festival's Critics' Week Cannes (2016).
Her research / artistic production work is largely composed of works of 2D animation, experimental analog animation, and object art, which is why her work has become known internationally both in art exhibitions and film festivals. Currently, in addition to her work at Tec, she serves as co-founder and creative director of the animation studio No Budget Animation.
